As an aspiring teacher, I’m passionate about kids and about advocating for education reform.
From my Junior Research Project (JRP), “How Schools Can Help Kids in Crisis:”
"Just days after yet another district high schooler committed suicide, students, community members, teachers and trustees spoke at a Novato Unified School District board meeting. They pleaded for Novato schools to take action….
If California public schools want to equip and empower kids to become graduates who succeed and thrive as adults, then California needs to adopt mandatory mental wellness education in K-12 public schools...."
From my Sophomore Advocacy Project (SAP), “The End of PE As We Know It:”
"Everyone can agree that the purpose of physical education—to keep kids fit, boost academic success with an active body, and promote a long-term healthy lifestyle—is worthwhile….
However, PE as we know it doesn’t successfully accomplish those things…."
