The Project
The objective of this project was to build three to four musical instruments per group. These instruments had to be from three different categories: string, wind, and chimes. Each instrument had to be able to play the notes of a full octave. In addition, I made an original sound waves song for MC Dub to perform while my group accompanied him.
Although we all brainstormed and created a band together, we each worked separately to make our own instruments. I personally worked on what I like to call a glass water whistle. This water whistle is basically like a slide whistle using a bottle with a bladder that's filled with water which you can squeeze to create different noises/pitches.
Along with my water whistle, our band also had a pan flute made by Adam, chimes made by Tak, and a high octive bass made by Kelsey.

Reflection
Overall, my group for this project was great and the project ran smoothly. We were on task and helped each other out. When we were determining how our presentation would go, I took the lead on writing an entire original song for MC Dub to perform with the band. I also finished my instrument rather quickly, so I was able to help my other group mates with whatever support they needed. I'm glad that for this project I was able to think outside the box and create something original and unusual like my water whistle. For future projects, I think as a group we could work on better communication; early on, for instance, we ran into a problem when two group members were inadvertently working on a same type of instrument, which isn't allowed within the same band. Overall, the project was a lot of fun and very satisfying!
